Blogging

I have reviewed several of my past posts and I have to say this, I am grateful I have done this. After reading, I am grateful for putting down my thoughts right then.  Now I can go back and relive those thoughts.  My babies are growing so much. Gabe is in kindergarten now.  Layla and Dash are 2.  We discussed that possibly they are going through those "terrible twos."  Stella is eating cereal and getting to be a little chunk.  Love them all.  

Ron and I are alone in our home as Katie moved to Provo.  There are good things and bad things about being empty nesters. The good things are that we talk a lot and laugh together.  We go places together and have a conversation that is uninterrupted.  The bad things are........????  No, we really miss the hustle and bustle of kids running around. But it's nice to just chill.  We love the grandkids to be here and laugh about all the funny things they do. 

We were finally able to get a headstone for Dad.  I designed it and I must say, I think it turned out amazing.  Pretty sure Grandpa would love it!

Rob and Cam were able to place it.  It was very heavy but my boys pulled through.  Here it is next to mom's.   It has a baseball mitt on it and at the top, there is the Navy symbol.   I really love it. 

Renewal

Yesterday I went to Super Saturday in Relief Society.  Besides spending a great day with Katie, Brandee and Ellie making crafts, I also was inspired to do some family history on our family.  These days, everything is digital.  No more cutting scrapbook paper and glue sticks.  Our teacher gave us the great idea of doing a blog and then at the end of the year getting it printed into a family yearbook!  Is that a great idea or what?  I am embracing it at this point and hope to be able to print our yearbook at the end of 2012.   I look forward to seeing what new events and people come into our lives.  
That's where I'm at.  Today I think I will give a quick review of this year, add a few pictures and try to remember all the great times. 

January-Ron and I celebrated our 30th anniversary.  We spent the weekend in Wendover and went to a concert of the Guess Who.  Ok, this is an old group from my teen years who I loved. 
Feb and March-I think they were pretty boring.  
April-Easter Egg Hunt at Grandpa and Grandma's.  

May-Brought our sweet little Stella into the world.  She was born on May 30, at 10:39 pm. She weighed 7 lbs 7 oz.  I was able to be there for her birth and like the other grandchildren, it was an amazing and tender moment.  She is now 4 months old and steals our hearts.

May also brought a new boy into Katie's life.  Daniel Case-from Hutto, Texas.  He flew in to Utah for a week. 

 

Then she flew to Texas!

 Then Daniel moved to Utah to go to school and Katie moved to Provo to be with Daniel. 

 

And that's where they are at today.  But they live in the same apartment complex--different apartments though. 
So now we need to catch up:
July-Boring
August-Boring
September-my birthday but boring
October-to be continued as it is only October 9, 2011. 

Someday!

I will update this blog, but not right now! I have a busy busy life. Two grandson's and two granddaughters....one is still in the oven, but due in June. TTFN.

You are 1. That is so hard for me to believe as the time has gone by so very fast. I think it's because I am your grandma and I want you to stay little for a long time. We absolutely adore you little girl! Is it because you are the first granddaughter? Probably so. But we love to kiss and hug you.

This year we have watched you eat your first baby food, watched you as you learned how to crawl, watched you take your first wobbly steps. Thank you for letting us be part of your life.

These are some memories I have of you this first year. I was there to watch you be born and it was so incredible, you were small, but you had attitude. The first few months were rough for mom and dad, especially on your dad, because you liked your mom so much. He lovingly referred to you as the "banshee queen". You let your voice be heard. That's our girl.

Even though you are little, you are a tough cookie. You can get bonked, fall down, hair pulled, and you never make a whimper. But if you want something special, you let us know just what it is that you want.

You love Elmo. Oh and Yo Gabba Gabba. You like to dance and you love your big brother, Gabe.

You also love your Aunt KayKay and boy does she love you. You guys are going to be besties for life I am sure.
